Fandom Questions :: Hetalia

1. The first character I first fell in love with:

Weelll, actually, the first character I fell in love with was Germany even before watching Hetalia - but that was because of a quiz result I got by one of my favourite fanfiction writer, PerfectTempest . So, I don't think that counts. When I really did watch the series, the first person that officially appealed to me was Greece.   (´ω`♡%)

2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:

Definitely Lichtenstein. When she first appeared, I though that the character wouldn't play a very big role in my heart. But as time passed by, she grew on me and now is probably my favourite girl character in the series alongside with Ukraine.

3. The character everyone else loves that I don’t:

Probably HRE. Why? Well, to be honest, I actually like him - he's cute and adorable, romantic and just pretty much a sweetheart. But people keep saying that the guy was Germany as a kid and I, being a great denier of the fact, found my liking for him dissipate. It's not that I hate him, I don't dislike him either - it's neutral.

4. The character I love that everyone else hates:

Is there really a character that people really hate in Hetalia? Really? I don't think so.
But Musheeroom flat out dislikes Austria. And Sweden. So, I'll go by that answer.
Austria and Sweden. Oh, Austria and Sweden... *dreamysigh*

5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer:

Romano. I usually love tsunderes - correction, I adore them. They are all so cute, in my opinion. Romano was the few people who charmed me with the "I hate you because I love you" romance theme.

However, recently, I've gotten tired of the tsundere streak since a lot of charas nowadays are following that trend. It gets cliche once you do it often. That's why my love for Romano had suddenly turned bleak. Don't worry, Romano is still one of my favourite tsunderes, though. And that will never change. :]

6. The character I would totally smooch:

Everyone. Every. Single. Male. Chara. EVERYONE. Yes. (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

7. The character I’d want to be like:

Who, I wonder... maybe Hungary? She's strong and has a big heart. She's caring and loving of her friends but fairly cruel to her enemies. We have some similarities and also share the fangirling habits (lol). And one more reason is because she's the centre of two of the guys in Central Europe that I love dearly - Austria and Prussia.

How can I not want to be the girl between the two?

8. The character I’d slap:

Uh... no one..? But you won't accept that as an answer, would you now? ( = 3 =)
Let's see.. Norway..? Because of his cold emotionless eyes and confidently cool face, perhaps. That's the only reason. Faces like those just make my hand itch with the temptation to smack them where it matters. Though I'd probably feel really bad afterwards. Poor Norway...

9. A pairing that I love:

I adore the SwitzerlandXAustria pairing. Favourite shipping ever! Hate the fact that there are so little fanfic/arts concerning the two. They have a really cute past and it makes for such an awesome ship. (。-ω-。)

10. A pairing that I despise:

The GerIta pairing. Guys! Don't bash me! I just... can't accept it. Yeah, sometimes they're pretty cute and I sense that the pairing is canon, BUT! I see Italy and Germany as just close buddies, they care for each other, just not in the romantic way. I imagine Italy helping Germany getting the girl of his dreams, giving him tips and basically teaching his Italian charm to the stoic German. Italy like girls, even though he may act like... that.
And another thing... Ludwig is mine!

Oh, look what we have here...?

I've been browsing mangafox.com today since there's nothing to do besides homework and writing that needs finishing. Look what I found..

Apparently, there's a manga with a tittle that's similar to my username

It's a oneshot written by Kano Yasuhiro-sensei about a guy named Jean(?), a sole heir of a mountain of fortune and even a big ol' mansion, who experiences the same scene over again for a whole hundred times - the scene being his own death. Tired of dying for the umpteenth time, he grows determined to get himself out of this endless loop.

Well, that's more less what the synopsis would look like.

[Anything below may contain spoilers. Beware]

The manga starts with an amount of gore; blood, daggers, grunts, thing like that. Then slowly progresses into the plot. We meet two more characters and learn about the 5 baddies who used to be Jean's buddies.

Personally, I think the art was a 6/10. Okay, maybe a 7.2 because of this:

  A---nyways!

The plot was... eh. No offense, but it wasn't all that compelling. The general idea was great, don't get me wrong! It's just that the way the mangaka pulled it off wasn't very good. A manga like this needs more depth and it seems that Kano-sensei couldn't make it happen with just a oneshot.

The real culprit behind the baddies was fairly predictable. Guess who did it?

[-SPOILER-]

Surprise, surprise! The butler did it! ヽ(ー_ー )ノ

The ending didn't struck me in awe, but... as cheesy as it is, I appreciate the hint of romance the mangaka incorporated into it. All in all, I give the manga a 3.8/5.

Tokyo Boys and Girls :: Review!

So I've actually read and finished Tokyo Boys and Girls yesterday. Really didn't think I'd read it since I've been putting it off for like, two whole years.

I quite like it. Although, the ending wasn't all that great, in my opinion.

The manga is about this girl, Mimori - I think- who goes to this school in -yes, you guessed it- Tokyo. She's in the same class as Nana and later becomes friends with her. Across their classroom, is the guy's classroom which is where Kuniyasu and his buddy, Ran.

I don't remember when, but somewhere in the manga's earlier pages, Mimori meets this guy who (spoiler) turns out to be her friend as kids - but she doesn't know that yet. The guy, Haruta, had a dramatic change from being the sissy girly weak kid from back then into the new handsome delinquent-type guy he is now.

Haruta suspects that Mimori was indeed the Kosaka Mimori from back then and swore to her that he'd get his revenge. The story then shifts into gear with Mimori trying to figure out what he means by that.

Then there's the love triangle with all the characters like so:

[May contain spoilers?]

Ran, Kuniyasu's friend likes Nana. However, Nana likes Kuniyasu who has a liking towards Mimori who only has feelings (later in the manga) for Haruta who is a huge idiot

I hate how at first, I'm all for Haruta. But then he has one of his ignorant moments and runs off. So Kuniyasu comes by and he gets to working his heartthrob magic all over the damn manga pages. And the bad part is that I actually fall for his magic! I actually want to see him get the girl sometimes. But of course, the hero won't let that and then he uses one of his cute-moment bombs at me and wins my vote. This happens a lot - especially in the 4-5th volumes.

My feelings towards the characters:

I generally like Mimori. Unlike some of a few female leads in shoujo manga, this one isn't an airhead with big sparkly eyes. She's got a decent personality and is fairly likable.

As for her friend, Nana... well... let's just say that I don't like her all that much. Reason?
Well, I feel bad for Ran since she practically just shoves him off so easily.

If I had to rank the guys, I'd say that on a scale of one to ten, Ran gets an 8.7 for being such a sweetheart, Kuniyasu gets a 6 for being somewhat of a romantic - 4 marks deducted because he's used to it and I can't read his mind - and as for Haruta, I give his a 7 because he has his cute moments - 3 marks lost because of his ignorance.

The art is pretty good - very pleasing to the eyes. Though, sometimes the proportions gets a little unrealistic. For example, somewhere in the 4-5th volume, Haruta was watering a plant and his legs were 2/3 of his whole body. But that doesn't happen very often so it's all good. The guys have pretty awesome looks too, so that's a plus!

All in all, I give this manga a 4.6/5
Recommended for readers who enjoy reading the following:
Shoujo, Romantic Comedy, School Life, and a touch of Drama.

Another awesome mangaka!

So, I was browsing mangafox, looking at random manga titles. As I was doing so, I saw that the layout had changed dramatically.

Well, ignoring that, basically, I found an interesting manga during my search.

It's called 'Mr. Morning'. When I started to read the description, my mind was BLOWN!

Here, lemme quote:
From the mangaka of Amatsuki:

The Rainbow Stone Train crosses straight through a vast continent.

Newbie train crew member Toy is posted to work in Morning, the train carriage which charges the cheapest ticket prices!"

Torquay Toy (the nephew of the head-conductor of Morning) wants to work on a train powered by rainbow stone, but ends up working on the "Morning" section, which is reserved for the lowest class passengers.

There.

Now, lemme show you exactly why my mind was blown:
From the mangaka of Amatsuki
mangaka of Amatsuki
Amatsuki

Amatsuki! One of the awesome-est manga I'm reading! o-( 0 A 0 )-o

It turns out, this mangaka has written a lot of other mangas too, and yes, it's a she.

Her art is just wonderful, I can not lie!

Please, if you have time, please check out her works! ( = w = )

I'll give you a list of some of her works and the genres. You could choose from there.

What did I just read...?

Just finished 'Kami no Kodomo' on mangafox...

Honestly, I... don't even know what to say...

But I'll tell you one thing,
What has already been seen cannot -ever- be unseen. Ever.

Now, unless you're a fan of really eerie, creepy, horrifying, disturbing, dark mangas, DO NOT EVEN THINK OF READING IT. DON'T. YOUR MIND WILL BE CORRUPTED.

I didn't even know why I read it in the first place - I mean, horror and mature weren't really the genres that I usually go for. Then again, maybe THAT's why I read it; because I don't normally read these kinds of things.

BUT STILL.

I still think that I shouldn't have read it. I regret everything. Why didn't I just run along and finish reading Fairy Tail like I'm supposed to? Why, oh idiotic self, why?!

See, it started like this:

I was randomly scrolling along mangafox's front page, and saw this manga tittle at the new manga list.

So I opened it in a new tab and read the description. I quote:
The twisted and deeply disturbing tale of a sociopathic serial killer...

Boy, was the description right.

I thought that maybe it wasn't as bad as they said, so I put myself to the test and actually started reading the manga, since it was, in fact, already completed.

Originally, I didn't even intend to read the first chapter until the finish. But part of me kept wanting to know what this twisted guy's fate would end up like. Something inside me was insisting me on completing it for some reason.

The manga was sucking me in it - and not in a good way.

Before I knew it, I had actually read it until the end.
And my mind was actually blank at the time. It felt like I was brainwashed.

Geh! ( T A T)

I would advice you to avoid reading this manga if you're the type who normally reads about love, comedy, and other light-hearted genres.

If you are one who enjoys a bit of gore, and think you can handle it, then by all means, go ahead. Knock yourselves out!

Just remember, what has been seen, can never be unseen.I really love this line...

Sad awesomeness ( T 3 T)

[WARNING: SPOILERS UP AHEAD]

Just finished reading this oneshot called, Forever Honey...

While listening to this:

I bawled! It was so lovely, and beautiful, and sweet, and so very, very perfect..!! ;A;

I loved every single page, every single panel, every single sentence, every single everything! It was one of the best oneshots I've read, ever.

The art's beautiful, really. I am in love with the mangaka.

...

I just googled the mangaka's name, Kanno Aya-sensei.

...

It turns out, that this mangaka is also the same mangaka that wrote OTOMEN.

OH MY GOD! ( 0 A 0 )

Her art so lovely, and the story line is PERFECT. I now have another fave mangaka.

Yeah, behold! My new, updated list of fave mangakas!

  • Kanno Aya-sensei
  • Takagi Shigeyoshi-sensei
  • Motomi Kyousuke-sensei
  • Sakura Amyuu-sensei
  • Himaruya Hidekaz-sensei (Hima-papa)
  • Enjouji Maki-sensei
  • Mashima Hiro-sensei No, Mashima Hiro-sama
  • Wakaki Tamiki-sensei
  • Kamio Youko-sensei

  • Usami Maki-sensei
  • Shiraishi Yuki-sensei
  • I think there's more, but I can't remember any of them at this point. = ="

If you have time, feel free to check out their works. I tell you this, it's worth it.

Anywaayss...

Back to the manga!

Right, Forever Honey.

I didn't really get where the manga was going until the part where the woman wanted the picture of her and the guy together. (THE GUY IS SO FUCKING HAWT.)

When that scene arrived, I put the pieces together, and viola! We have a very sweet, heartwarming, touching, sad(-ish) manga.

In my opinion, it wasn't really sad, more of a touching kind of feel. But, due to the presence of the sad song ^above, I teared up, and then, just like that, we have a mini-Niagara Falls!

One more thing...

THE GUY IS HAWT! I don't care if he's old(-ish)! He. IS. SEXAY. *drools*

Things Are Getting Done~

Booyah!

I'm on a roll. (~o = w =)~o

So yesterday was a pretty fulfilling day, I guess. I finished the first half of Durarara's anime. Yeap, I'm already at episode 12 now! :D

Also, I got to finish volume 3 of Fairy Tail AND finish the Fist Time :: Voting For the Top 32 Sexy Men of Anime on the same day.

I successfully taught my lil sisters how to dance the macarena too! And boy was it fun~~

Today I woke up early - about 6-ish AM - and did a buncha random procrastinating stuff until it was about 9-10(-ish). Then I got a call from my Geography teacher from last year asking for my help. Now, at that time, I still hadn't taken a bath yet. So guess what I did next.

Bathe?

Nope. The next thing that I did wasn't that - even though that was supposed to be my priority at that time. I called up Musheeroom (and Fafrina - but she didn't answer)(She must be avoiding me... ( _  _ ") ) to ask if she wanted to help. She said that she was going out today and can't help, so in the end I had to go alone.

But!

It wasn't a big deal. Everything went pretty cool. And I also got a free t-shirt. The only not-so-great part was that I had to write a ton of stuff onto pieces of papers. I did about 120 in 2(-ish) hours. My hand. Is crushed. =A=

Latest Chapter of TWGOK:

The last time I stopped reading the manga was at chap 164. When I was browsing through the updated manga list on MangaFox, turns out that TWGOK had just updated until chapter 167. So I went ahead and continued reading the manga after my long hiatus.

[WARNING: SPOILER ALERT]

I was so sure that Chihiro-chan was the one who had the goddess inside of her...

BUT I WAS WRONG! 0A0

I was so sure, but it turns out that no, Chihiro-chan wasn't the one with the goddess, but IT WAS AYUMI-CHAN! Chihiro is just a normal girl who has liked (loved?) Keima-kun since even before her conquest!!

Now I know this post is kind of pointless, but I just want to tell you THAT I WAS WRONG! 0A0
Seriously, I feel so trolled right now... =A=

And let me just say this here, Keima-kun is a pimp. HE IS A PIMP. ( = 3 = )
I do not get how this otamega could win so many girls' hearts. I mean,
WHAT KIND OF BLACK MAGIC DO YOU POSSESS?

Not only can he win the hearts of real girls and game girls, but he can also win the heart of a GODDESS (Diana and I'm pretty sure the others are swooning deep inside too). (= 3 =)

But you know I'm kinda interested to know if the girls' behavior in the manga really is what Wakaki-sensei sees as ...attractive? I mean, is that really how girls have to act to make the males go ( 0/////0 )?

Well that's it for now, I'm just gonna go and take a shower.
Bye.

So many things to do...

...Let's not do any of them!

Yeah, that makes sense. That makes lots of sense.

Too much sense, in fact.

And then it'll be 'SENSE OVERLOAD!!'
Because there's too much sense.

Oh god, what am I saying? ( _  _ '')

Well, as I've said before, my finals are over and done, so that means I'm finally free to do what I want. That's the good part.

But!

The thing is, I want to do so many things that I just can't decide which one I'm going to do first. Which leads to me having to make a decision, which leads to me giving up because I ended up being too indecisive, which leads to me wanting to forget about it. Yeah, I like to run away and hide from my problems. It's my defense mechanism, deal with it.

So, in the end, I usually end up doing something else that is completely useless, or something that I've done multiple times already. For example!
I was supposed to finish reading a whole bunch of mangas and novels, and also watch a shitload of animes. But because I couldn't choose where to start, I ended up watching 6-7 episodes of Personal Preference, a Korean drama that'll forever be one of my faves.

Why was I watching a Korean drama? Well, it's like this, a few days ago, in order to distract myself from studying, I went and had a chat with my mom. At that time, I was feeling nostalgic about the old times before I found manga, when watching Korean dramas was my passion(-ish). So, I forced my mom to have a go with Personal Preference.

I showed her a few videos and tried to play the first episode. But then, her laptop gave a battery low warning, but my mom forgot to bring home her charger that she left at work, so we had to shut the laptop down.

Today, she suddenly said to me, "Hey, let's watch the drama (bla bla bla - I forgot what she said)" and I agreed.

The only thing that I really wanted to do from my to-do/finish-list was read Fairy Tail. But I didn't make much progress. I only managed to finish one itty-bitty chapter. So now, I'm only at Chapter 15. How lame of me.

Geh. ( = A = )

Life is busy for an Otaku.

My back is hurting, my ass too. I've been sitting on this chair for far too long... =3=

I don't know why, but since I got back from the class on Wednesday (5th October), I've been out of sorts. I've been so tired lately.

I used to be able to stay up until dawn, but now, I'm already drowsy by 11PM. And I still get sleepy during the day. I mean, earlier this morning, I even took a 2 hour nap from 11AM-1PM.

With that sort of distraction, my manga reading/anime watching schedule got pretty messed up. But still, I managed to get some reading/watching done, thankfully.

So far this week, I've only been able to finish these:

Rave Master (Vol. 6)
Sket Dance (Chap. 002)
No. 6 (Somewhere in Chap. 4 [I must restart this chapter])
Fairy Tail (Chap. 10)
Katakoi no Tsuki (Chap. 1)
Psyren (I've completed this a long time ago, I just felt nostalgic and read a few chaps)
Fairy Megane (Competed! :D)
TWGOK (Chap. 160)
Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa (Chap 6)
Yankee-kun to Megane-chan (Chap 24)
My Sweet Honey? (Completed! :D)
Samurai Drive (Chap 2 [it looks like they haven't updated this since Nov 2010])
Yotsubato (Chap 2)
Berserk (Chap 1)

Soul Eater (Ep. 18)
Ao No Exorcist (Ep. 2)
Working!! (Ep. 6, I think)
Nodame Cantabile Finale (Ep. 3 or 4, I forgot...)

I've found some interesting series that I might check out later:

Necromancer
Claymore
Gamaran
Beelzebub (I've started reading this, but I lost where I stopped =3=)
Arago
Belmonde le VisiteuR
KHR
Amatsuki
Akagami no Shirayukihime

D. Gray-man
Durarara
KHR (Anime)
A Channel (I actually watched an episode or two a few months ago, but I forgot so, yeah..)
Sket Dance (Anime)

I'm doing so well with the reading process, that's good...
But the thing is...
My finals are coming up soon... and I haven't read anything yet. =3=

I'm so dead.
